TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Our weekly theme provides a focus for our daily activities.
Each day includes woodland or garden activities, eco focused crafts, sprinkler play, healthy organic snacks, and plenty of time to make friends and join in our counselor led group games. All the participants will have an opportunity to engage in a variety of age-appropriate activities throughout the four weeks.
On Free Play Fridays children have the choice to pursue their own projects, play and games.
Week 1: Bug & Birding Week
Building bug hotels & recycled bird feeders, wildlife ID, building a bird hide & bird watching, insect scavenger hunts, baking burdock root chips, homemade binoculars, birdsong meditation.
Week 2: Adventure Week
Trail laying, shelter building, trust trails, secret codes, treasure hunts, repurposed book banner making, woodland challenges, putting up a tent & a bear bag, geocaching & making forest furniture, Teddy Bear picnic, baking muffins, natural crafts, forest headbands, storybook trails.
Week 3: Tree Week
Leaf & tree ID, tree planting & care, leaf lanterns, bark painting crafts, bark rubbing, stick weaving, woodland webs, pine needle soda, leaf printing, drawing trees in art, mobile making.
Week 4: Flora Week
Plant ID, planting seeds, gardening, watering the vegetable patch, flower pressing, book marks, clay pressed flowers, collage using pressed flowers, recycled crafts, preparing icy mint & lemon coolers, recognizing edible flowers, plant sketches.
